HD Conference Feature: ClearOne Products Compliant with Avaya

By Amy Tierney, TMCnet Web Editor

ClearOne, a Utah-based HD conference manufacturing company, announced today its MAX IP and MAXAttach IP conference phones are compliant with Internet protocol telephony solutions from Avaya, a provider of business communications applications, systems and services.

ClearOne’s (News - Alert) MAX IP phones help businesses with Avaya's SIP-based IP telephony systems easily conduct conference calls with natural and crystal clear sound. The MAX IP is now compliance-tested by Avaya (News - Alert) for compatibility with IP Office 5.0, company officials said.
The company ClearOne is a member of the Avaya DevConnect (News - Alert) program, an initiative designed to develop, market and sell third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology. As a Gold member, ClearOne can submit products for compatibility testing by the Avaya Solution Interoperability and Test Lab in Lincroft, N.J. A team of Avaya engineers develops a test plan for each application to verify whether it is Avaya compliant.
Achieving Avaya compliance means that businesses can add best-in-class capabilities to their network without having to replace their existing infrastructure. This helps speed deployment of new applications and reduces network complexity and implementation costs.”
“This recent certification for our SIP-based MAX IP conference phones gives Avaya customers a truly world-class conferencing solution that is easily integrated into IP Office and provides a cost-effective way to leverage their existing communications investment,” Tracy Bathurst, chief technology officer at ClearOne, said in a statement.
ClearOne became a DevConnect program member in 2006.
“By offering compliance testing to the many innovative companies like ClearOne who are members of our DevConnectprogram, Avaya promotes fully interoperable solutions that help businesses unleash powerful new possibilities," said Eric Rossman (News - Alert), vice president, developer relations and technical alliances, Avaya, in a statement. "They are able to use unified communications to connect employees and customers to information from wherever they are, over whatever device they have available - getting more out of their multivendor network and delivering new value to their bottom line."
ClearOne plans to showcase its MAX IP conference phones at the 2009 VoiceCon conference and exhibition, a conference that focuses on the evolution in enterprise communications to IP Telephony and unified communications systems, software and services. The event is scheduled for Nov. 3 and 4 in San Francisco, Calif. As TMCnet reported earlier today, the company will demonstrate its conferencing systems and speakerphones, as well as its Personal Conferencing line.
