Polycom Showcases CXIP Phones at WCP 2010

The Microsoft (News - Alert) Worldwide Partner Conference is an annual gathering that provides a forum for partners to connect with each other and with Microsoft staff, to learn about the latest Microsoft programs, strategies, and be apprised of cutting-edge technologies. 


Polycom, a visionary in communications that empowers people to connect and collaborate everywhere, unveiled its two new network-based IP desktop phones CXIP phones and the industry's first and only IP conference phone designed for Communications Server '14 at the WPC in Washington. Polycom (News - Alert) will be demonstrating the working the new phones at WPC booth no. 339.

The new CXIP phones, when integrated with Microsoft Communications Server '14,'are expected to deliver a more affordable and a richer unified communications experience. The new enhancements include photo-enabled contact information, selective visual voicemail, viewable calendar information on phone, joining meetings with just a click, automatic synchronization of call logs, simplified pin authentication , and better USB connectivity to an associated PC.

'The once clear lines between voice communications, video conferencing, telecom, and IT are disappearing, as these previously disparate technologies are unifying under groundbreaking platforms like Microsoft Communications Server '14,''Garry Reichert vice president of Strategic Partners at Polycom, said.

By profiling the CX series IP phones at WPC 2010, Reichert said that Polycom was offering real-world solutions for channel partners who were looking to succeed in world which is being defined by end-to-end UC solutions that are complete, compelling, and interoperable.

Polycom will also demonstrate additional Unified communications solutions that deliver a richer experience with Communications Server '14' including the CX700 IP phone, CX5000 Unified Conference Station and Polycom HDX personal and room-based HD telepresence solutions.

In addition, Polycom will also showcase its comprehensive portfolio of integrated solutions that span voice, video and application integration for Microsoft Unified communications. 

Kirk Gregersen, senior director of Unified Communications (News - Alert) at Microsoft Corp. said that the WPC was an opportunity for Microsoft partners from around the world to see the depth and strength of Polycom   CXIP series that not only maximized the reach of communications Server "14", but also enhanced the voice communications experience with the Polycom HD voice technology within a unified Microsoft environment.

Polycom has something for everybody. For WPC 2010 attendees, Polycom will highlight how seamless integration of its CX series with Communications Server "14" will deliver an effective and personalized phone experience. 
 
For Microsoft and Polycom channel partners, Polycom plans to outline the opportunities that CX series offers.

New Microsoft partners will have the opportunity to see how the CX series and Polycom's video conferencing and telepresence solutions help to enhance the revenue potential of Microsoft UC sales.

Polycom partners will be witness to the capabilities of the CX series in solving customer UC application needs, and how they would benefit from the Microsoft communications Server "14" environment.
The CX series phones are affordably priced from MSRP U.S. $199 for the CX500 IP phone, designed for use in public areas; $299 for the CX600 IP desktop phone; and $849 for the CX3000 IP conference phone. The new phones are expected to be available in the fourth quarter of 2010.
