Extending the Lifecycle of a Headset with Sennheiser

By Stefania Viscusi, Assignment Desk Editor

While headsets have grown in sophistication to offer more dynamic communication experiences, headsets have also become important as the device that enables two-way communication.
When purchasing headsets, especially for an environment like the call center, it is important to think about such things as audio quality, fit and ease of use, and especially the lifecycle of the headset.
In an environment like the call center, which heavily makes use of the headset and where technology changes are constantly made, choosing a headset with an extended lifecycle is important and keeps call centers from making poor investments.
To make the headset last longer, headset provider Sennheiser, builds headsets with durable features on key components that do not need to be replaced including the ear capsule and mic on their headsets.
Thorough testing and meticulous engineering Sennheiser, a leader in audio capture and reproduction, is able to create a headset that provides an exceptional solution for contact center agents.
While other alternatives may be a “headset”, they are not a flexible communication solution designed for the long-haul.
Durable construction of the headset, including Kevlar coatings, Tephlon reinforcements, a minimum use of plasticizer and the use of high quality plastics in the composition of their headsets, allows Sennheiser to extend the lifecycle of their headsets.

Also, exchangeable consumable parts like cables, ear pads, headbands and headband pads can be easily changed whenever they become worn or damaged. This helps make the purchase of a headset much more valuable, rather than having to purchase a new headset each time.
Not only are Sennheiser's headsets also call center-tested, but the headsets include a modular cable system so they are also future proofed for when new consoles are introduced.
This cable system allows the user, in most instances, to bypass the costly amplifier and connect to the phone- for even more cost savings. Bypassing the amplifier allows the user to obtain the highest quality headset without the desktop clutter and expense normally associated with a communication solution.
Lastly, a call center-worthy headset should include a support system including warranty. Sennheiser offers a 2-year warranty and a service department that has performed reputable work for top name musicians, call centers, houses of worship, large events and even award shows such as the Grammy’s, Emmy’s and Academy Awards.
When looking to make a wise headset purchase, it is important to remember that Sennheiser's durable headsets are built to last for years, ensuring that headsets reach their maximum operating life, regardless of changes in technology in or out of the call center.
