By Jayashree Adkoli, TMCnet Contributor

Internet protocol private branch exchange (IP-PBX (News - Alert)) is trending as the new communications platform among businesses. The sale of IP phones has increased in the past few years.

However, there are keys challenges with regard to product design and affordability associated with the IP phone market, as it is still evolving from a hardware-based model to a software-based model, says an IDC (News - Alert) study. This makes it difficult for the small businesses to adapt IP-PBX platform.

Catering to the needs of small businesses, Yealink, a provider of voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) phone and IP communication solutions, has introduced two new entry-level IP phones, the SIP-T19P and SIP-T21P, which are tailor-made to offer a range of advanced features to small-to-medium sized businesses (SMEs) and carriers.

The new SIP-T19P has many key IP-PBX features, such as anonymous call, anonymous call rejection, message waiting indicator (MWI), voice mail, call park, call pickup, intercom, paging, and much more.

However, the key feature of SIP-T19P IP phone is its 132 x 64-pixel graphical LCD that provides a clear five-line display that facilitates for a better user experience and easy access to many visual information at a glance. It has 29 keys, including four soft keys.

In addition, the new wall-mountable SIP-T19P also incorporates dual 10/100 Mbps network ports with integrated PoE for extended network use, IPv6 and SRTP/ HTTPS/ TLS, VLAN and QoS and provisioning for headsets. These features make it an ideal solution for SMEs that are looking for an advanced solution at an affordable price.

In addition, users of SIP-T19P IP phones also have access to a single VoIP account and can even benefit from a range of simple, flexible and secure installation options.

Like the SIP-T19P IP phone, SIP-T21P is also an entry-level IP phone from Yealink (News - Alert) featuring an extra-large 132 x 64-pixel graphical LCD showing a five-line data display and an intuitive user interface. It even features dual 10/100 Mbps network ports with integrated PoE for extended network use. It has 31 keys, including four soft keys.

Apart from high-definition (HD) voice characteristics (support for HD codec G.722, HD speaker and a HD handset), the new SIP-T21P also supports two VoIP accounts,  IPv6, Open VPN and a redundancy server. Like its peer SIP-T19P IP phone, it even operates with SRTP/ HTTPS/ TLS, 802.1x.

Both the IP phones feature XML/LDAP remote phonebook, full-duplex hands-free speakerphone with acoustic echo cancellation (AEC), local three-way conferencing, direct IP call without SIP proxy, group listening, short message service (SMS), IEEE802.1X complaint, multi-language support and more.

Bottom line: SMEs looking for cost-effective IP phones that have advanced features as well as modern design can choose Yealink’s new IP phones.
