In today’s competitive, global marketplace, it’s become increasingly vital for companies to partner with one another in order to reach new markets and better serve their existing customer bases. This is especially true in the IP

communications industry.
Mitel (News - Alert), a company that specializes in IP telephony and presence solutions, is keeping up with this trend. The company recently announced the upcoming, global rollout later this year of its new Mitel PARTNERprogram, which represents a global channel model transformation. The new channel program is designed to help Mitel partners build mutually successful business opportunities in the fast-growing IP communications market.
Paul Butcher, Mitel’s president and chief operating officer, explained that the company recently has been focused on strengthening its ability to serve the needs of channel partners with tools, resources and differentiation.
“As the market for IP communications continues to grow, Mitel's new channel-centric strategy, tailored product line, and streamlined channel program firmly position us to increase revenue generated through indirect channels,” Butcher said in a statement.
The Mitel PARTNERprogram, guided by one global strategy, is consolidated under a single, global umbrella. This setup simplifies the channel engagement model, allowing partners to take advantage of opportunities that can increase their revenue by up-selling productivity applications that meet customer needs.
The new partner program also means Mitel will be more effective at delivering to its partners the tools, campaigns and capabilities needed to go to market easily and successfully with new products and services.
“Mitel is committed to being the most customer-centric and channel friendly vendor; offering a suite of programs and promotions which reward partners for their commitment to Mitel and for delivering an exceptional customer experience," said Doug Michaelides, vice-president of global marketing at Mitel, in a statement.
Michaelides added: “Mitel's future growth is dependent upon the success of our channels, and we are committed to building mutually profitable businesses with our partners.”
The Mitel PARTNERprogram is organized into three tiers: authorizedPARTNER, selectPARTNER and premierPARTNER. Membership in each level is earned by meeting specific criteria such as revenue performance, sales and service certifications and differentiated levels of service. Top tier partners gain higher levels of benefits and tools, along with a wider range support, training and resources from Mitel.
The partner program also offers members with business development opportunities such as funding and support for joint marketing campaigns, rebate programs, incentive programs, and opportunities to participate in vertical sector initiatives.
