Sunnyvale, California-based voice processing technology specialist Fortemedia Inc. has announced the availability of next-generation voice processing solution, SAMSoft iS700, which is targeted at all PC form factors, such as ultrabook and tablet devices.
Voice recognition and voice communication play a key role in multimedia arena. These technologies are now integrated in almost all the hand-held, mobile and media devices available in the market. However, clear and seamless voice communication in noisy environments on such devices is very challenging.
In an effort to address this issue, Fortemedia has announced the availability of the SAMSoft iS700 voice processing solution, which improves voice recognition and voice communication especially in noisy and heavy human traffic environments, such as a cafe, restaurant or airport.
The company said that SAMSoft iS700 is able to improve the voice communication in devices by leveraging the availability of multiple (two or more) microphones, which are generally used by today’s manufacturers of notebooks and ultrabooks.
Fortemedia worked closely with Intel (News - Alert) to design and build this solution.
Having the capability to solve many of consumers’ everyday voice and speech problems, the new SAMSoft iS700 voice processing solution incorporates Small Array Microphone (SAM), with advanced patented voice processing technologies. These technologies facilitate the solution to improve talking and listening clarities resulting in enhanced user experience for voice-enabled communication devices.
Paul Huang, chairman and CEO of Fortemedia, said in a statement, “SAMSoft iS700 is a breakthrough technology increasing usability without compromising performance in noisy environments. We are pleased to provide PC OEMs with this choice.”
Fortemedia has also incorporated a keystroke and keypad noise suppression feature into the new SAMSoft iS700 voice-processing solution. With the help of this feature, “always-on-the-go” consumers utilizing ultrabook and tablet devices can multi-task with the ability to speak over Skype (News - Alert) or VoIP while typing away on the keyboard.
In addition, SAMSoft iS700 also features the company’s advanced beam forming technologies, which enhances existing voice tracking and voice zoom features by allowing a beam to track the person's voice in 3D, while eliminating noise, resulting in clear voice communications, cited the company.
Last year, the voice processing technology specialist had rolled-out a similar voice processing solution, FM1388, for the automotive applications.
