REVE Systems: Mobile VoIP Differentiates Carriers from the Competition

By Stefania Viscusi, Assignment Desk Editor

To make it possible for any mobile phone to use VoIP, Singapore-based REVE Systems offers the iTel Mobile Dialer Express, a mobile application that supports GRPS, WiFi (News - Alert) and Bluetooth for Internet connectivity that can run on any phone.

The move to mobile VoIP is moving quickly. Industry research finds that the mobile VoIP market will be worth $32.2 billion by 2013 and that by 2019, half of all mobile calls will be made over all-IP networks.

To find out more about the company, and their mobile VoIP offering, I took some time to chat with M. Rezaul Hassan, CEO of REVE Systems.

Our exchange follows.

SV: Can you provide some background on the company, where are you based, what solutions do you offer??

RH: REVE Systems is a VoIP products and solutions company. We are well known for our Mobile VoIP product range, with our flagship product, iTel Mobile Dialer Express. Our other products include Mobile Call Back Dialer, Mobile Call Through Dialer, VPN, Codec Convertor, IP Softswitch and VoIP Billing solutions.

We are a quality driven organization with ISO 9001:2000 certified operations and we are headquartered in Singapore with our major development center in Bangladesh and regional offices in India and the U.K. We service customers across 50 + countries around the world and offer best in class VoIP products and around the clock support. Our customers range from start up’s to the largest of voice carriers.

SV: What are the advantages you offer for service providers looking to mobile VoIP?

RH: Service providers are able to offer mobile VoIP services under their own brand, with their own switch in a scalable, secured architecture using our offering. Also, in association with the iTel Byte Saver, they can reach out to customers behind blocked environments/ firewalls and make the application work in lower bandwidth networks, like 2G.

SV: Industry research finds that the Mobile VoIP market will be worth $32.2 billion by 2013 and that by 2019, half of all mobile calls will be made over all-IP networks - What are your thoughts? Do you think this prediction is accurate? Are you seeing anything different or significant in the market?

RH: We think that this is a realistic estimate as we are seeing a huge surge in mobile VoIP adoption across the world. Consumers are moving to a single integrated device for their voice and data usages and the mobile phone is the primary device.

Mobile Internet usage is also becoming very popular across both developed and developing economies. As a result, over the last year, we have started to see voice calls in mobile networks on 100 percent IP transport - IP origination and IP termination, with our application. While the penetration is smaller today, due to the fast adoption of mobile VoIP rates and cool mobile applications, we believe that this is a realistic estimate.

We are also seeing a trend of mobile carriers starting to offer mobile VoIP as a differentiator from their other competitors in the market. This trend, coupled with quality end user experiences, is going to ensure higher end user adoption.
