Altima Technologies, Inc., a Microsoft (News
- Alert) partner and the maker of popular NetZoom software, has unveiled NetZoom 12 for Visio. NetZoom for Visio, which is immediately available and compatible with Microsoft Visio 2003, 2007, and 2010, allows professionals to model and maintain the physical infrastructure of the network and data center assets in a centralized repository.
This product, company officials said, seamlessly integrates with Microsoft Visio and creates rack elevation diagrams and floor layouts without the need to drag and drop.
Built-in reporting capabilities allow the user to generate a multitude of reports including asset inventory, capacity reports, warranty reports, and rack and row inventory reports.
According to company officials, with this new release comes the option to access the NetZoom library on the local workstation or on a remote server, which is updated daily.
“With the growing acceptance of cloud technology and general availability of high speed Internet access, we decided that it was the right time to offer NetZoom users direct access to our NetZoom Library Service, which reduces the footprint on the user’s workstation while ensuring availability of the entire library without requiring periodic updates,” said Alan Schenwar, general manager at Altima Technologies, Inc. in a statement.
“The customers that I have spoken to are thrilled to have access to an always up-to-date NetZoom library,” said Schenwar.
Back in January 2011, Altima Technologies announced the release of its all in one NetZoom Visio Stencils Library for all versions of Microsoft Office Visio 2010, 2007 and 2003.
NetZoom Visio Stencils allows one to create exceptional network diagrams and rack elevations in Microsoft Visio.
NetZoom Visio Stencils is the world's largest device library in Microsoft Visio stencil format. This device library includes over 200,000 shapes of manufacturer-specific servers, network, telecommunication, audio, video, and security and infrastructure devices from over 4,000 manufacturers.
