Open Source CRM Customers Can Now Use Jigsaw Applications to Create Revenue

Jigsaw, a Data as a Service, or “DaaS,” systems provider, has launched a new developer program for companies, such as open source CRM software provider, SugarCRM, to integrate Jigsaw products to benefit both companies and their customers.

The program allows SugarCRM (News - Alert), and other companies participating in the program, to share Jigsaw data to its customers for free, while letting their customers use their Jigsaw accounts to acquire contact data, or resell Jigsaw data and add a new revenue stream to their business. 

For newly joined SugarCRM, integration with Jigsaw applications is a simple process. With typical set up taking less than a day, the APIs responds in both XML and JSON. 

By embracing standard formats, Jigsaws API allows for a more thorough integration at a smaller price than other competitors. 

Along with SugarCRM, 16 other companies have joined the Jigsaw developer program and are in the process of going live with Jigsaw applications. 

Clint Oram, co-founder and vice president of SugarCRM, said that Sugar Professional, a SugarCRM product, now ships with Jigsaw integrated right into the applications. 

SugarCRM’s customers can now easily acquire and use Jigsaw company data at no charge.

“Sseveral dozen Sugar customers have gotten their own Jigsaw API tokens in order to customize and expand on their use of Jigsaw inside of SugarCRM,” Oram said. 

And, with the company’s recent community addition of Amazon EC2, SugarCRM’s customers are able to use Jigsaws data applications and Amazon’s cloud platforms, while saving costs and developing new products.

Clients using SugarCRM products will also reap more benefits from the company’s involvement in Jigsaws development program. 

Jigsaw’s ChatStat, which is a live chat software companies use to directly connect with their customers and prospects, provides users with a name, title, company and contact for site visitors at the start of every chat. 

This way, SugarCRM clients can connect with their prospective clients, have more background information and, hopefully, facilitate this open to create more revenue. 

Additionally, Jigsaw has released a suite of APIs and a toolkit that allows developers to deliver company profiles and detailed, up-to-date contact data from inside their web, desktop or mobile applications.
