While the economic recession has put a strong weight on some companies’ shoulders in the customer relationship management, or “CRM,” industry, some CRM providers and manufacturers are still holding their own amongst those struggling to perform above par.
In fact, open source CRM provider, SugarCRM (News - Alert) announced that 3Dconnexion, a SugarCRM customer who manufactures 3-D control devices, has won a CRM Best Practices Award at an expo in Nuremberg, Germany.
The award was delegated to 3Dconnexion – a subsidiary of computing device manufacturer Logitech (News - Alert) – as a result of the company’s use of SugarCRM’s open source global customer management platform.
“This award is confirmation of the value SugarCRM delivers to its customers through best-in-class CRM capabilities and an incredible network of channel providers,” Liz Smith, vice president of SugarCRM Europe, said, adding that SugarCRM congratulates 3Dconnexion for its innovative use of SugarCRM.
As the third SugarCRM customer to win the CRM Best Practice Award, SugarCRM’s products have taken the mainstream road and continue to dominate the open source CRM market.
Insignio, a German-based partner of SugarCRM that managed the implementation for 3Dconnexion also tacks on its third award with 3Dconnexion’s recognition.
Before enlisting SugarCRM’s open source platform, 3Dconnexion’s CRM was spread across multiple database which make it difficult for users to consolidate, share and measure information. With SugarCRM’s system on the 3Dconnexion platform, users online marketing, sales, services and reporting features are now consolidated into a core processes, making it user friendly for all departments and operations.
Online Marketing Manager and CRM project leader at 3Dconnexion Raik Brauns said that by implementing a comprehensive system for 3Dconnexion’s offices allows for all units to be organized, which greatly improved the company’s efficiency.
Additionally, 3Dconnexion’s system uses technology initially developed for robotics and space exploration to serve the needs of gamers, students, animation professionals and product designers.
When aligning 3Dconnexion’s original processes with SugarCRM’s open source CRM system, the combined product pin points on necessary functionalities of a CRM company. By providing internal sales, marketing and support operations, 3Dconnexion's can provide more responsive and engaging customer interactions.
“This comprehensive project illustrates how important dynamic cooperation during the design stage is for effective implementation,” Mirco Müller, CRM lead at Insignio, said. “The results have far exceeded our client's expectations.”
