Reduce costs and bolster productivity – they’re goals that businesses are always focused on, and for at least one IT expert, they form part of a key strategy for navigating the financial crisis facing the United States.
“Every company needs to operate at 100 percent efficiency,” TMC (News - Alert) President and Group Editor-in-Chief Rich Tehrani wrote in his blog. “Cut off your dead wood. Do it today.”
When they were introduced in the mid-1970s, fax machines helped businesses become more efficient by saving on “snail mail” time. Today, progressive businesses are focused on fax solutions that also save money within broader unified communications solutions.
Yet, experts say, though organizations such as those involved in the financial, government and legal sectors rely heavily on faxes, some of their VoIP and UC infrastructures overlook implementing fax as part of their converged IP strategy.
During a Webinar next week, a panel of experts will discuss the benefits of SIP/T.38 versus traditional TDM-based fax technologies.
Register here for “Fax-Enable Your Organization with SIP/T.38: Leverage Your AudioCodes VoIP and Unified Communications Infrastructure,” to be held at 2 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday, Oct. 15.
Sponsored and led by officials from Sagem (News - Alert)-Interstar, a Montreal based boardless SIP/IP fax provider, and AudioCodes, an Israel-based VoIP product provider, the free event will include ways to integrate Sagem-Interstar’s (News - Alert) so-called “XMediusFAX” SIP/IP fax solutions with AudioCodes’ media gateways to deliver more efficient and scalable solutions.
Sagem-Interstar made news recently when it released a white paper that discusses how companies can become more eco (News - Alert)-friendly by moving them from paper to digital workflows, reducing overall paper use and generating positive environmental benefits.
During the Webinar, experts will discuss how the combined solutions from Sagem-Interstar and AudioCodes could lead to: more secure and reliable T.38 FoIP from desktops, email and Web applications, and mobile devices; oen standards architecture with SIP and H.323 protocol support; automated faxing from ERP and CRM systems; lower total coast of ownership; and adoption of blade servers and virtualization.
The Webinar will be led by Sagem-Interstar’s partner development manager, Georges Boutros, and Alan Percy, director of business development for AudioCodes. TMC’s own group managing editor, Erik Linask, will moderate the free event, including a question-and-answer session at its conclusion.
