Excel Telecommunications Eyes Under-Served Market with New 1+ Hand-Back Product

Excel Telecommunications (News - Alert) will reportedly launch a new product offering “1+ Hand-Back,” a wholesale service for 1+ origination.

The company says it plans to leverage its nationwide Primary Interexchange Carrier “PIC” network to originate 1+ and hand the traffic back to wholesale partners.
Senior Vice President of Sales Patrick Hannon said that company officials view this product launch as an opportunity to capture a large underserviced portion of the market due to the recent turmoil in the U.S. 1+ marketplace and the size and breadth of the Excel network.
The new product is targeted towards carriers that want to enhance their product suite with U.S. 1+ origination. The company’s executives said that their partners can now offer end-users the ability to PIC Excel’s network for direct 1+ dialing to access the network. Offered as a cost-effective alternative for originating customer calls, 1+ Hand-Back can complement or eliminate other access applications, such as Toll-Free and Dial-Around (1010). Officials from the company say they’re offering the partners an option to choose to PIC the ANIs of their end-user or elect Excel’s internal customer care to perform the function.
Chief Executive Officer James Cashiola said that 1+ Hand-Back gives carrier partners yet another opportunity to generate new revenue and broaden their services portfolio. They’ve made the delivery process easy, producing a business model that they expect many of their partners will use as a tool for growth.
The company also said that their 1+ Hand-Back product can accompany Excel’s Wholesale Termination for an end-to-end switchless solution. Their switch-based partners can also interconnect utilizing traditional TDM or VoIP circuits.
Excel Telecommunications is a provider of long distance, wireless and data services to businesses, resellers and telecommunications dealers throughout the United States and internationally. The company was in news earlier this year when Grandstream Networks (News - Alert), a manufacturer of high quality and affordable IP PBXs, SIP trunking gateways and IP voice and video solutions for the worldwide VoIP SMB market, announced full interoperability with Excel Telecommunications’ SIP trunking services.
Excel tested and certified Grandstream’s GXP series phones and GXE502x IP PBX (News - Alert) with the Excel network.
