8x8 (News - Alert), Inc. is strongly recommending broadband deployment and adoption in California, according to a statement today from company chairman and CEO Bryan R. Martin that was included in a report from Governor Schwarzenegger's California Broadband Task Force.
"The benefits awaiting Californians when complete statewide deployment of broadband is achieved should not be underestimated," said Martin. "Broadband access affects everything from economic and community development to education, health care and public safety to adoption of emerging technologies such as Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP  communications, call center and customer relationship management industries.
