Speech Recognition and Text to Speech: Telefonica Deploys Custom TTS Voice Created by Loquendo

Telefonica (News - Alert), one of the world leading integrated operators in the telecommunication sector, providing communication, information and entertainment solutions, with presence in Europe, Africa and Latin America, has just deployed custom TTS voice created by Loquendo (News - Alert).

Officials with Loquendo said that TTS allows companies to express their identity using sound - speaking volumes by means of tailor-made voice branding with their own, consistent synthetic voice.

Company officials said that Loquendo’s “Custom Voice” solution provides Telefonica with a very natural and pleasant-sounding synthetic text to speech voice, which builds on their brand identity, increases consumer confidence and extends their business into new markets and services.

Thanks to this solution, Telefonica will be able to evolve the company’s brand identity.

Telefonica will use the new and unique TTS synthetic voice for interactive promotions, advertisements and domain-optimized voice applications, opening up many new and innovative marketing channels such as Call Center automation, mobile advertising, announcements and web speech, etc.

According to company officials, Telefonica’s new voice was initially recorded in the studio with the selected talent, and was then transformed by Loquendo into a computer voice that remains as human-like, natural-sounding and expressive as the original speaker.

“It is not only technology that we want to explore with our new synthetic voice, powered by Loquendo,” said Mario Soro, CRM technology director at Telefonica, in a statement.

“Now we are able to save on high studio recording costs, reduce time to market for new services, and deliver advertising messages on every channel and device,” Soro added.

Through this solution, customer interaction has now significantly improved and Telefonica again demonstrates to the market how using technological innovation can deliver best in class customer care services, with the clear objective of increasing customer satisfaction and the client experience, said Soro.
