Splashtop Announces Complete Compliance and Optimization of its Remote Desktop HD Application

Splashtop Inc., provider of best-in-class cross-device computing experience across tablets, phones, computers and TVs, has announced complete optimization of the Splashtop Remote Desktop HD application with the NVIDIA (News - Alert) Tegra 3 quad-core mobile processor. The award winning Remote Desktop HD application optimization for NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core mobile processor will provide high performance for delivering enhanced gaming and HD video experience.


Furthermore, Splashtop Remote Desktop makes it possible for users to access a PC or Mac remotely while benefiting from a full audio and high-definition video. The Remote Desktop also provides users with 3D interactive gaming support.

In a release, Chris Pedersen, senior content development manager at NVIDIA said that, “It’s great to be working closely with Splashtop to deliver the highest performing remote desktop solution on tablets and other devices with Tegra 3. NVIDIA and Splashtop have always pushed the limits of performance, and Splashtop Remote Desktop shows off what the two companies can do.”

Leveraging the standards of Splashtop, a tablet device using Splashtop Remote Desktop HD with Tegra 3 will now be able to deliver a latency which is greater than 60 frames per second and sub-40 millisecond. This effectively enables exceptional gaming and HD viewing experience for the user and it sets a new benchmark in the industry.

NVIDIA specifies that Tegra 3 has the capacity to deliver 5x the performance provided by its dual-core predecessor, can offer a much longer battery life without any significant increase in power consumption.

Mark Lee, CEO of Splashtop, said that, “With Splashtop Remote Desktop, users can go everywhere with their tablet, without lugging their PC around. Splashtop Remote Desktop HD's new hight performance version will be made available for use over all Tegra 3-powered tablets which run Android (News - Alert) 4.0. Splashtop Remote Desktop HD retails at $9.99 (USD) at the Android Market.

In other news, Splashtop Inc. recently released FileHound, an app to remotely access computer files from an iPhone (News - Alert) and iPod touch. Designed for small screens, FileHound is the easiest way to list, search and navigate documents, photos, music and videos on a computer and leverages Splashtop’s award-winning remote desktop technology.
