Montreal-based Octasic (News - Alert), a leading innovator of media processing solutions, has begun sampling its Vocallo multi-core gateway DSP platform, which provides unparalleled value for voice and video over IP applications, the company said.
Vocallo, based on Octasic’s unique asynchronous Opus DSP core architecture, offers a high performance-to-power ratio in the industry. In fact, coupled with Octasic’s pristine voice and video quality, developers can significantly reduce their system cost while enhancing total solution quality, according to Frédéric Bourget, Octasic’s director of product management.
“We worked closely with our customers to design a platform on which they can develop the new generation of media gateway and enterprise IP communication servers,” said Bourget. “We are now seeing intense interest from developers who require a complete, cost-effective solution that meets their product design challenges.”
Vocallo’s architecture allows media gateway designers to not only match an offering to their specific requirements, but to enhance that offering and create a host of new products from a single product development.
Sangoma Technologies (News - Alert) has chosen Vocallo to develop an accelerator card targeted at PC based telephony. “We are excited to use Vocallo in our next generation products” said David Mandelstam (News - Alert) of Sangoma Technologies Corporation. “Octasic has always delivered superior quality products, with unmatched performance and power. Vocallo will allow us to expand our business into new markets.”
