Sangoma's VoIP Gateways to be Sold by NorelcoTele.com

By Jessica Kostek, TMCnet Channel Editor

Software-based PBXs are quickly increasing in demand because of their low costs, and that's one major reason why one Canada-based supplier of communication and security products announced recently that it's distributing Ontario-based Sangoma Technologies (News - Alert) Corporation's voice cards and gateways to major telecom resellers in the maple leaf nation.

The distribution deal focuses mainly on Sangoma's telephony platform, named as the gold standard for the software-based PBX (News - Alert) market, NorelcoTele.com officials said.

"Sangoma is the obvious choice for the large number of weekly inquiries we're getting," said Vito Grieco, vice president of sales at NorelcoTele.com. "The quality of the products, the wide number of applications that are supported, and the overall business and technical support we get from these guys is unmatched."

Company officials said that Sangoma’s voice cards and gateways, like the “NetBorder Express Gateway (News - Alert) Card,” offer a single port T1/E1 card with PCI-Express Interface that supports up to 30 simultaneous calls.

Sangoma’s products are “built specifically for software-based communications running on servers. With a compact form factor and optimization for voice quality on a PC, the cost effective Sangoma products enable NorelcoTele.com to offer highly competitive, all-in-one IP-PBX solutions,” officials said.

To accelerate the adoption of software-based PBX solutions, NorelcoTele.com is also launching a PC-based platform, specifically built around Sangoma's NetBorder Express Gateway cards, to host software-based PBX applications. The PC-based appliance is expected to be available in late August.

"NorelcoTele.com is taking software-based PBXs to the mainstream, and we're thrilled to be the telephony partner they have selected for this growing market," said David Mandelstam (News - Alert), Sangoma's CEO.

"The fact that NorelcoTele.com is building PC-based telephony appliances specifically around our NetBorder Express Gateway is going to be a great enabler for this market," Mandelstam said.

Sangoma's products will be available in five NorelcoTele.com offices in two offices in Alberta, two in Ontario and one in Quebec.
