As organizations throughout the world are becoming increasingly dispersed, their reliance on solutions that promote collaboration and conferencing continues to grow, helping to drive demand within these industries. While growth has not been consistent throughout the world, one area of global commerce is experiencing rapid growth.
According to a study on Asia Pacific collaboration services released by Wainhouse Research, the use of online collaboration and conferencing services is growing at a rapid pace in the Asia Pacific market.
The market in this region suffered years of low awareness and small volumes of usage. This demand for audio, Web and video conferencing services surged in 2007. New emerging economies in India and China assist in overall regional growth, yet more mature markets such as Australia also realized strong demand.
The research conducted on 50 local carriers and specialty providers in six local markets to produce the 2008 Asia Pacific CSP (News - Alert) Market Forecast & Provider Reviews study. It is positioned as the most comprehensive study conducted to date on Asia Pacific online collaboration.
Key findings of this study include the growth of audio conferencing, which grew to 50 percent in 2007 and is expected to continue at over 20 percent year-over-year for the next four years; Web conferencing is poised to grow, but has not yet found wide-spread adoption; India has seen substantial growth in awareness, while China still has much left to do; and green initiatives and travel costs do not factor into usage as much as in Europe and North America, yet geographic disparity and the need for personal productivity are the strongest drivers.
This study includes the review and forecast of six local markets, including Australia/New Zealand, Japan, China Country Group, South East Asia Country Group, India and Korea. In the study, each market is sized and forecast by service type and a review of 50 different collaboration service providers operating in the market is offered.
Managers can use the data in this study to better determine and establish local marketing strategies and product offerings, as well as set budgets and sales expectations.
The 2008 Asia Pacific CSP Market Forecast & Provider Reviews is part of a complete collection of CSP studies that also includes information on the European and North American markets.
