Web Meetings and Audio Messages Part of the Mourning Process

By Carolyn J Dawson, TMCnet Contributor

During times of loss and grieving, Tributes.com provides lasting personal tributes, as well as active online community support. Users can take advantage of Tributes’ centralized national Web meeting destination, making it easily accessible to people to come together online to share the treasured stories of the important people in their lives who have passed away.

Web meeting provider for survivors of those who have passed and an online resource for local and national obituary news, Tributes recently partnered with Remembered Voices LLC, allowing family and friends to leave personalized audio messages to express their sympathy to the immediate family or recall special memories of the deceased. These messages are stored within the memory books of obituaries and Eternal Tributes that are posted to the popular obituary database.

From any U.S. location, users of the popular obituary brand will be able to make use of traditional landline telephones or cell phones to record an audio message, paying tribute to the memory of their lost loved one. Such audio memories with improved voice quality and genuine emotions provide the family with the ultimate forever gift, comforting them during their time of mourning.

With availability on Tributes Web meeting/conferencing portal, Tributes.com, and Tributes’ network of television partners, more than 1.6M consumers will be able to make use of the audio memory capability directly from the websites of Tributes’ funeral home partners featuring Tributes-powered obituary sections.

In a prelease, Elaine Haney, president of Tributes.com, said, “We are continually on the lookout for innovative technologies that can help us to deliver new and improved products for grieving families and the funeral homes that serve them, and Remembered Voices provides us with a unique platform and the opportunity to partner with local talent that we expect to be able to extend and leverage to other applications in 2011 and beyond.”

Providing an audio archive service, Remembered Voices provides subscription for Voice Library service that can help create, manage, and share voice recordings by landline phone, cell phone, and Web. Users can also obtain the service to save voicemail messages, connect military families across time zones via phone conferencing or Web meeting, and dictating journals.
