Plantronics Intros CS70N Wireless Headset
May 02, 2007
Headset manufacturer Plantronics (News - Alert) on Tuesday introduced its CS70N Professional Wireless Headset System, which represents a third-generation product for the company. This headset is designed to bring together audio performance, style and comfort for office professionals seeking hands-free mobility to be more efficient at work.
Chuck Yort, vice president and general manager of the business solutions division at Plantronics said that the company designed CS70N in response to changing needs for headsets. Phone calls, he explained, have evolved beyond just a means of voice communications.
“They often involve multimedia, document collaboration and other interactive elements that require professionals to be active and hands-free,” Yort said in a statement. “The Plantronics CS70N provides this mobility, along with the industry’s best combination of audio, style and comfort.”
CS70N is based on Plantronics' award-winning CS70 product line. The new headset was designed with a strong emphasis on audio quality: it features a boom and noise-cancelling microphone to eliminate office environment background noise. CS70N uses digitally encrypted, voice-dedicated DECT (News - Alert) 6.0 technology to minimize interference with other wireless devices.
CS70N’s excellent audio quality is combined with remote answer/end capabilities. This makes the new headset a tool for putting an end to “phone tag” by helping ensure that important calls are never missed. The headset has a range of 300 feet, allowing professionals to roam into other areas—for example, moving to a more private location.
For busy professionals who need the ability to talk hands-free while simultaneously typing on a keyboard, using a mouse, leading a Webinar, or grabbing important files, the CS70N is ideal. Just as important, the CS70N is designed to be future-proof and backward compatible; it works with both traditional and IP-based phones.
“In addition to providing employees with a great communication solution for smarter, more efficient business communications, the Plantronics CS70N provides peace of mind to IT departments that might be moving to VoIP
in the near future,” Yort said. “We’re helping our customers, from large enterprises to small businesses, plan for the future.”
CS70N features behind-the-ear design, and weighs in at a mere 0.75 ounces. One-touch call answer/end, volume and mute controls are built into the headset. A boom swivel means the headset can be worn on either ear. The battery holds up to 6 hours of in-use charge.
Plantronics’ CS70N Wireless Office Headset System is now available for suggested retail price of $329.95. It’s available at www.plantronics.com/cs70n and through authorized Plantronics resellers.
