Telecommunications and wireless expense management company AMTEL has been awarded a United States General Services Administration (GSA (News - Alert)) Schedule contract that will extend its reach even further into a considerable market, according to the company.
Under the terms of the deal, which is effective immediately, AMTEL will be listed on an approved “GSA Schedule” to sell Telecommunications Expense Management (TEM) services directly to government agencies. The deal is significant for the Santa Clara, California-based AMTEL because it allows the company to work with agencies across the country as a “trusted vendor” with special and approved pricing.
“This GSA contract award will facilitate and streamline the ordering process for all government procurement officers,” CEO and Founder Pankaj Gupta said. "Being a contract holder gives us a unique advantage over the competition in reaching out to the federal government community."
As mobility continues to become more important in every day life, and device usage continues its ascent in the world of business, implementing an effective telecommunications expense management strategy has become paramount in reigning in costs of doing business.
AMTEL offers software and service solutions for Wireless Procurement and Expense Management for businesses, and now government agencies. The platforms are designed to help organizations benefit from Centralized Order management through the use of these corporate Mobile Policies and complete visibility of their Telecom costs and allocations.
The U.S. government has in place numerous controls for companies wishing to do business with its hundreds of agencies, and often the hurdles set in place include a complicated and lengthy list of criteria designed to prove a company can provide both superior quality and competitive pricing.
Gupta said the win should help expand and strengthen the company’s government channel, which he considers a key segment for achieving AMTEL’s long-term growth strategy.
Receiving a GSA Schedule contract award, says Gupta, is the culmination of an extensive evaluation process conducted by the GSA and demonstrates its capabilities, performance history and customer satisfaction.
Essentially, the GSA IT Schedule 70 contract provides a streamlined vehicle for federal, state and local agencies to purchase AMTEL’s comprehensive portfolio of Telecom and Mobile Expense Management solutions and services.
AMTEL provides both TEMS and Telecom Information Management System (TIMS) solutions for its customers. As TMCnet recently reported, the company’s TIMS software platform and professional services are designed to help organizations in Telecom Financial Management, Auditing, Infrastructure Analysis, Chargeback Accounting, Consolidation, Contract Management and Technology Assessment.
AMTEL 's TIMS platform is built on the SaaS+ model and is designed for landline and wireless integration. That means Amtel’s (News - Alert) clients don't have to invest in any hardware, software licenses, or software maintenance plans.
The TIMS platform from AMTEL received a 2008 Product of the Year Award from Technology Marketing Corporation's Customer Interaction Solutions magazine.
