With the surge in the adoption of Google (News - Alert) Apps, many large companies and universities across Japan are seeking for tools that can help them manage as well as protect their data. Cashing in on this demand, Backupify (News - Alert) has collaborated with Gluegent, Inc. to offer Japanese organizations with superior data protection and data management in the cloud.

Backupify is a Massachusetts-based provider of cloud-to-cloud backup and recovery solutions for Software as a Service (SaaS (News - Alert)) applications. Its all-in-one archiving, search and restore solution that is tailored for online services, such as Salesforce, Google Apps, Facebook, Twitter (News - Alert), et al. Above all, its offering helps companies access and control the data they entrust to these systems and also averts data loss from external threats, user error or service failure.

Gluegent, which joined hands with Backupify, is a provider of Google Apps third party applications.

Bringing cloud-to-cloud backup formally to Japan, Backupify's partnership with Gluegent will augment both the companies business, as Gluegent will now be able to resell Backupify's solutions to organizations seeking to better protect and secure the data they store in Google Apps.

"In just a few short years, the cloud to cloud backup market has gone global," said Rob May, CEO, Backupify, in a statement. "Our partnership with Gluegent, a trusted cloud leader in Japan, will help meet the regional demand for better cloud protection and we look forward to working with the Gluegent team and empowering IT organizations across Japan to assume greater control over their cloud data."

Last year, Backupify had announced that it would empower IT departments with greater control over their data through Bring Your Own Storage (BYOS). BYOS ensures that companies can store data in their own region if that's needed. In addition, this concept facilitates customers around the world with the option to store their data in local Amazon S3 centers or with other data storage providers.

Throughout 2014, Backupify has been adding top Google Apps resellers to its global channel program including: Tempus Nova in North America, gPartner and Cirruseo in France, Searce in India, Dedalus Prime in Brazil, and Infoanalitica in Mexico.

Sources say that Backupify has achieved a 300 percent increase in channel revenue for Q1 of 2014, compared to the same quarter last year, due to its continued channel expansion.
