Accenture, Oracle Business Group to Help Clients Migrate to the Cloud
April 29, 2015
Global management and tech consulting company Accenture (News - Alert) has partnered with cloud-based software and platform provider Oracle to extend Oracle Cloud products to customers more quickly and with less risk. They are calling their partnership the Accenture Oracle (News - Alert) Business Group.
When Stephen Rohleder, group chief executive for Accenture in North America, spoke about the Business Group, he said it would leverage Oracle's multiple cloud products and his own company's experience in the tech market to improve value for their clients. Oracle will offer clients both software as a service and platforms as a service while Accenture delivers those software packages and platforms through the Accenture Foundation Platform for Oracle. The Foundation Platform is an “integration accelerator” with components such as cloud-readiness assessments and data migration tools to make migration easier.
“Accenture Oracle Business Group combines Accenture’s deep industry and technology experience with Oracle’s expansive set of cloud solutions to deliver client value not found elsewhere in the market today,” Rohleder began.
He was followed by Thomas Kurian, the president of product development at Oracle, who said that this will be the first time that each company's
customers will have the ability to use Accenture extensions such as the data migration tools to make migration to the Oracle Cloud simple and quick. He hinted that the overall goal is to provide clients with a single process for implementing critical business components and having them operate in the cloud.
The deal for clients comes with a wide range of support from industry professionals. There are 52,000 consultants across the globe that can help with Oracle products alongside 20,000 additional consultants who are skilled with Java. Those professionals will be at the ready for all clients who are either in the process or migration or who need help with maintenance of their stable cloud setups. They offer assistance for maintenance of all hardware, middleware, and software including that which is customized for each client.
Accenture and Oracle will begin by targeting the public sector and hospitality and finance markets. They will work with individual clients to determine their exact needs as businesses and then cater a migration plan to those needs. Overall, the Business Group will contain sales, marketing, and tech teams that will expand the reach of the group and make sure that all new clients get the attention to properly move their assets to the cloud.
