Deploying a hosted cloud solution comes with a lot of benefits, but in most cases customers are not able to get a clear view of what is taking place in the background. For organizations that want more control, this requires a cloud orchestration platform that can provide the necessary insights to ensure the functionality and security with monitoring and analytics tools. In order to give organizations that are hosting their own private clouds, which include hosted workspaces and cloud infrastructure, more insight, dinCloud just announced new features for its dinManage platform.

The dinManage solution is a cloud orchestration platform that brings control of the infrastructure back into the hands of customers. It lets them manage their cloud infrastructure by easily provisioning servers, desktops, storage, and applications to a virtual private data center.

According to the company, the improvement in the dinManage console is going to provide more transparency into their cloud infrastructure so they can better manage and secure their network for the dinCloud enterprise suite of solutions.

By collecting data at one minute intervals, dinCloud gathers information on a wide range of performance metrics, including local drive, disk, memory and CPU utilization, as well as read/write reports and network in/network out speeds. The data from these metrics is presented with graphs and tables so it can be read easily and understood.

With this information, organizations can see exactly how the resources of their machines are being used. Machines that need more resources, such as CPU, memory or disk can be identified quickly so they can be increased. These resources can be monitored by setting up alerts to notify administrators if, for example, a machine runs out of disk space.

The utilization graphs can also be used to track the history of past performance to troubleshoot application level issues and resolve problems before they cause system wide breakdown.

“We believe in transparency and giving our customers the necessary tools to manage all facets of their virtual environments. With the addition of analytics and monitoring features to our client orchestration console, customers can focus on their core business without ever worrying about personally monitoring the resources of their machines,” said Walid Elemary, vice president of product development at dinCloud.

Providing a comprehensive look in the critical and non-critical virtual machines of dinCloud's customers lets them see how they are using their cloud deployment. Based on the information they collect, they can make informed decisions to increase or lower their investment on what is needed with greater accuracy.
