tyntec Launches ICMS Cloud Communications Application Service

Even though telecom operators are making efforts to collaborate for a more efficient communications ecosystem, there are still barriers between networks, technologies and the different protocols that are in place. While this is necessary for businesses to protect their assets, for consumers it is only seen as a hurdle to seamlessly communicate with anyone no matter whom the service provider is. The new Inter-Carrier Messaging Service (ICMS) from tyntec is a cloud communications application that wants to remove these barriers by giving network operators a process that simplifies how subscriber SMS and MMS is exchanged to and from any wireless network, technology or protocol.

According to tyntec, ICMS has been designed for the communication industry to provide more choices, and lower costs for carriers across all tiers and value-added communications service providers around the world with the North American Numbering Plan.

“Unlike in Europe or Asia, the messaging services in the US and Canada as well as all countries under the +1 North American Numbering Plan, have evolved under a hub-based framework, relying on a limited number of vendors providing interoperability, which has impacted competition in the entire ecosystem,” said Nicola Wolfram, CEO of tyntec.

The new platform is built on the global application-to-person (A2P) messaging tyntec has been developing over the past decade and expanding it into person-to-person (P2P) messaging. The company says this will help carriers provide global coverage for their subscribers, and allow enterprises to reach their customers and employees no matter where they are on any device. The CEO said the goal is to have a full version of an all real-time communications application on the company's platform through powerful APIs for simpler integration with all business-critical communications.

The ICMS communications application has a high performance infrastructure with a 100 percent uptime and scalability with unlimited message throughput that has a global reach. This will give operators a platform they can rely on, can be connected easily with a global reach to reduce operating costs, and improve the customer experience with quality service.

The GSMA (News - Alert)-compliant OC hub is connected to hundreds of operators globally for SMS and MMS exchange with standards-based infrastructure that supports GSM, 3GPP and 3GPP2. The infrastructure also has high scalability to address global growth with a customizable security and privacy solution to control spam.
