May 15, 2017
Microsoft (News - Alert) Skype for Business is now an integrated conferencing and collaboration solution that is being used by more enterprises around the world. As more organizations deploy the platform, they are looking for more ways to use the technology to maximize the investment potential and drive enterprise productivity. As the world's largest dedicated provider of collaboration software and services, PGi is using its more than two and a half decades of experience to launch new product and service offerings to make this possible.
The new offering was designed in collaboration with IT teams for solutions that will maximize Skype (News - Alert) for Business investments to drive enterprise efficiencies by focusing in key areas of how organizations use collaborative solutions today.
With mobile now an integral part of enterprise communications, the new service will simplify global conference calling on mobile devices with the integration of Skype for Business to ensure audio conferencing works at all times no matter where the users are. The company stated audio integration and call quality will be the same around the world with Skype when its customers use the more than 160 international dial-in numbers for PGi's Skype for Business audio. And the connectivity is further simplified with PGi's Agenday app by getting rid of the need to memorize numbers or find passcodes with a secure one-click connect to any conference call while on a mobile device.
“Our customers look to PGi as the trusted advisor on all things collaboration. As a long-standing leader in the space, PGi has a broad and deep portfolio of collaboration software and services. Our goal is to continue providing services and support that not only propel productivity from our own solutions, but also leverage our global customer care teams to troubleshoot other collaboration investments,” said John Stone, EVP and managing director, PGi International.
Using another Microsoft application, Outlook, the PGi CustomInvite solution will allow enterprises to personalize the meeting experience on Skype with custom templates so there is a consistent brand image across the organization.
With these additions in place, enterprises will be able to show improved return on investment for Skype for Business with better activation rates for new collaboration tools, which, according to PGi, has resulted in implementation services seeing up to 80 percent activation rates.
As to why these new features are essential for enterprises, PGi said productivity comes to a grinding halt when collaboration software and services don't work. And by addressing the issues around quality, deployment, provisioning, poor adoption and/or lack of support when organizations deploy Skype for Business, the company believes it has a value proposition.
