Many companies and service organizations are coming to the aid in both Texas and Florida, states deeply impacted by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, Frontier being one of them. Teaming up with phone and network vendors Mitel, Cisco, HP, and Ruckus Wireless (News - Alert), with the mission to repair or replace equipment damaged or destroyed in the storms.
Frontier delivers video, high-speed internet, and advanced voice services across 29 states. The communications services are delivered to urban, rural, and suburban regions, as well as businesses. It is aiming to assess all the damage across its fiber-optic/copper network, in order to rectify and fix what is possible. Frontier is not the only firm looking to help, as numerous conglomerates are making substantive donations: Apple donated $10 million while Michael Dell (News - Alert) has said he is donating $36 million to relief efforts.
With the financial assistance, it will allow more businesses to repair and rebuild at a much faster pace, much in the vein of Frontier. "We are working with our vendor partners to get phone systems, data network equipment, conferencing stations, routers, servers, switches and security appliances available for our customers. We are able to provide replacement equipment and advice anywhere in the state. We are here to help businesses get back up and running as fast as possible, even if they are not in our service area," says Ken Arndt, Executive Vice President - Commercial Sales, Product & Marketing.
Connectivity is essential for those impacted. For victims, any return to normalcy is more than welcomed. So we all must do what we can to help with the relief efforts.
