IMTC Merges with MEF

The International Multimedia Telecommunications Consortium (News - Alert) (IMTC) announced its merging operations with MEF. IMTC is a non-profit organization focused on developing and using interoperable, real-time, multimedia telecommunication products and services on a global level, hosting testing events worldwide. That includes driving development of conferencing software, hardware and services that allow businesses to maximize their collaborative efforts internally and with customers, partners, and suppliers globally.  In order to create the best possible conferencing experience, hardware, software, and networks all must follow interoperability standards.

Everything the IMTC is known for will still be prevalent during the merger with MEF (News - Alert), including its work on simulcast and scalable video (SSV), real-time media software-defined networks (RTM SDN), WebRTC, and IoT. Additionally, the SuperOp! testing event, which takes place annually, will continue as planned.  This event allows multimedia companies to test products and services, from start-ups to enterprises, helping to ensure interoperability.
