The Conferencing Zone Week in Review: Cisco, New Zealand and More

Video conferencing has become the go-to platform, not just for businesses but for the education system, as well. This week, The Conferencing Zone saw New Zealand leveraging conferencing services while Cisco (News - Alert) was changing the face of education through video conferencing. In case you missed any of it, it is the perfect time for The Conferencing Zone Week in Review.

How do you have the best video conference ever since it is like being face-to-face with clients as opposed to the classic audio conference? There are a handful of useful tips that all teams should implement as the global video conferencing market is anticipated to reach $2.9 billion by 2020. It all involves the proper software, hardware, being courteous, minding manners, and proper dress. Seems pretty simple, right?

New Zealand government agencies have enlisted Conference Call International to help with conferencing services. The award came courtesy of the Telecommunications as a Service effort. “TaaS addresses a growing need to provide a broad range of telecommunication and managed security services that better support the achievement of the Government ICT Strategy and Action Plan to 2017 and Government’s Better Public Service Results 9 and 10,” New Zealand Government explains. “TaaS will provide the foundational services required to achieve these objectives by simplifying and improving network connectivity between agencies, and providing new services to better manage security risks.”

Starting in spring 2018, Beeghly College of Education at Youngstown State University in Ohio will implement Cisco Spark Technology (News - Alert). It is all part of the Classroom of the Future initiative to teach teachers how to practice in future classrooms. “This initiative is in response to Dr. Chander Kohli’s generous gift of $1.1 million towards a technology-enabled classroom,” said James Yukech, associate vice president and chief information officer at YSU.

Finally, the Nuvias UC Practice announced the addition of audio solutions, via Revolabs (News - Alert) new UC portfolio. This means all Nuvias partners will have access to the Yamaha and Revolabs technology, including the newly showcased Yamaha YVC-1000MS Skype (News - Alert) for Business-certified speakerphone. Nuvias UC’s Commercial Director, Maryam Arbabi, said: “The Revolabs portfolio presents an exciting new opportunity for Nuvias UC and our customers. Revolabs’ integration and product development in the Skype for Business space, along with its high-quality audio and teleconferencing products, creates a unique offering for partners looking to grow their profitability through the attachment of these products.”
