Don't Fear Video Conferencing

Video conferencing aims to make conferences much more personal, no matter where clients and remote workers are located. Yet, some businesses, still reeling from rough legacy conference call experiences, are reluctant to venture into the video world. Despite the many pros, there are a handful of cons holding companies back from going forward.
Setting up the video conferencing equipment can seem daunting without an IT professional. At the beginning of the VC industry, specific software needed to be installed on laptops and personal computers for the functionalities to work. Now, the only tool needed to join a video conference is a web-based browser. Additional services offered can also allow conferencing to be done via smartphones and tablets, which is an asset for remote or traveling workers.
Additional stressors can come from poor video quality, slow speeds, and technical glitches. Modern enhancements to video technology can help improve the chances of an error-proof conference. And if there is a problem, personalized IT can link in to the computer and quickly nip any glitches in the bud.
In legacy audio-only conferences, no one had to be seen, so they could be attended in any attire or room. But now, the game has changed. Video conferencing is now no different than taking a face-to-face meeting with a client or speaking directly with a supervisor.
Change is hard and the idea of video conferencing can be frightening. It can seem extremely difficult but linking to a business UC platform will make it easier to navigate. One of the big fears for business leaders is participant limits to virtual events. Now, that isn’t a concern, thanks to webinars, which can reach thousands of interested parties at once.
It may take some adjusting, research, and reassurance but video conferencing is nothing to fear and will only enhance a business not hinder it.
