Marshall Electronics has unveiled a new channel digital audio monitor. It supports up to 64 channels of audio vertically, or two detailed audio channel horizontally.

"The AR-DM61-BT (News - Alert) is an ideal audio/video QC solution for TV stations, broadcast trucks, transfer stations, house of worship facilities and any other production broadcast that needs a dedicated audio monitor," says Bernie Keach, Global Sales Manager, Marshall Electronics. "The AR-DM61-BT is a unique solution in that it is more than just a rack-mounted multi-track audio monitor; it serves as a live confidence video monitor and also comes with speakers for convenient onsite audio monitoring."

This 1RU solution features a live video confidence monitor. It has two stereo speakers with 100dB max volume and two dedicated 3GSDI inputs with loop through. It also has one HDMI input, and four stereo AES inputs and outputs.

It comes with a 10-inch touchscreen – which Marshall Electronics says makes it the first audio rack unit of its kind in the industry. And it’s Dante- and Dolby-compatible.

Marshall has been around for more than three decades, selling audio, multimedia, and video systems for broadcast video, pro A/V, pro audio, and OEM applications. Its solutions include cameras, conferencing solutions, format converters, microphones, and production equipment.

AV industry pundit Gary Kayye says the year’s biggest A/V trends include

4K to 8K TVs, AV-over-IP, AV as a Service, BYOD and collaboration, direct-view LEDs, OLED, SSD lighting, and VTC cloud.

In other A/V news today:

• Philips has selected Innovative Imaging Technologies Inc.’s Reacts collaborative platform. It will integrate that into the Philips (News - Alert) Lumify portable ultrasound system to create a tele-ultrasound solution.

• Roche Pharma France and Voluntis are partnering on cancer patient support. The effort involves a study to evaluate adherence of the ZEMY solution.
