According to Crehan’s Q2 2014 Server-class Adapter and LOM market share report, Emulex (News - Alert) Corporation, a company in network connectivity, monitoring and management, has announced that it has gained nearly two and a half points of overall Fiber Channel revenue market share over its nearest competitor.
Fiber Channel technology is a means for attaching servers to storage via storage area networks (SANs).
Emulex’s industry-leading LightPulse Gen 5 FC Host Bus Adapters (HBAs) offers superior gen 5 Fiber channel connectivity, higher throughput and lower latency, and increased I/O bandwidth.
Emulex Gen 5 FC HBAs provide twice the throughput and up to 75 percent lower latency when compared to current 8GFC adapters without sacrificing CPU efficiency. Emulex Gen 5 FC HBAs deliver more than 1.2 million I/O operations per second (IOPS) on a single port1, the highest level of Fiber Channel adapter performance available. It offers better storage performance for cloud and storage intensive applications.
