XO Communications (News
- Alert), a provider of advanced IP communications, intelligent networking and cloud computing services, recently announced that it has established an additional point of presence (PoP) at 325 Hudson's Meet Me Room in downtown New York. The move will help XO to expand its presence in the area and provide cost effective PoP to carriers, service providers and enterprises looking to access XO services.
325 Hudson Street is a 10-story, 240,000 square foot building located in the heart of New York City's "Hudson Square" neighborhood, along the fiber-dense Hudson Street corridor. The building has direct access to transatlantic cables and major metro and regional fiber providers. The carrier-neutral core interconnection facility features a building-owned and managed Meet Me Room with a commitment to no monthly recurring cross connect fees.
"The 325 Hudson Meet Me Room serves the growing bandwidth and connectivity needs of our many customers," said Eric Points, director of product management at XO Communications. "The 325 Hudson location is consistent with our strategy of adding more convenient options to interconnect for our current and prospective customers."
In related news, XO Communications (XO) has also expanded its access to Amazon Web Services' cloud computing solutions by adding dedicated connections that support more secure network connectivity for enterprises at speeds ranging from 50 to 500 Mbps. This expansion of the AWS Direct Connect relationship is an enhancement to existing direct connections at speeds of 1 and 10 Gbps.
