Embedded M2M Solutions Week in Review

XcelMobility formed a set of three strategic partnerships to help deliver enhanced location based software (LBS) solutions to the Chinese market. XcelMobility signed agreements with Tianditu, NingBo BoYan Software Technologies, and UMEOX Mobile. The agreements call for the development of next generation LBS mobile devices.


Commenting on these partnerships, Ron Strauss, executive chairman of the Board of XcelMobility, said, "We are pleased with our success in producing the next-generation of LBS technology as we can now play a leading role in the wearable computing world, which is expected to be the next frontier of mobile computing."

Grace Industries is also working on developing new M2M technology. The company behind the manufacturing of mission-critical personal safety devices revealed that it has a new device ready to market that is geared towards helping firefighters.

The new tracker, TPASS Telemetry Safety Kit, can monitor firefighters locations in real time and can become an emergency signaling solution if necessary.

Robert Campman, VP of research and development at Grace Industries, said, “The TPASS telemetry safety kit was created as a versatile, high performance safety monitoring system to fill the growing needs of smaller fire departments while providing a high-level of on-site firefighter safety, including evacuate, may-day/panic alerts and automated accountability and monitoring.”

Finally, the winners of the 2013 Telematics Update Awards were announced to a crowd of almost 2,000 people. Sprint (News - Alert) took home one of the biggest awards of the night, the Telematics Update Industry Newcomer Award for its Sprint Velocity system.
