Sennheiser has introduced the PX 100 and PX 200 foldable headphones, both of which deliver superior sound quality in a compact design. These headphones are designed for listening to music on consumer electronics devices.
The PX 100-II is a mini headphone with an open design. Just like its predecessor model, it delivers natural sound reproduction with powerful bass performance. Its frequency response ranges from 15 to 27,000 Hertz.
The PX 200-II sports a closed design and thus reduces external noise. That means users can listen to music in peace without being disturbed -- and without disturbing others. The PX 200-II’s ear pads offer a comfortable "seal" against ambient noise. Its frequency response extends from 10 to 21,000 Hertz.
In a
release, Ivan Kuan, senior product manager for consumer electronics at Sennheiser's global headquarters in Wedemark, Germany, said both headphones include powerful transducers with neodymium magnets to ensure clear and natural sound reproduction and a total harmonic distortion of less than 0.1 percent.
"In recent years, there have been tremendous further developments in the technology -- and therefore in the sound quality -- of portable MP3 players such as iPods,” he said. “For that reason, music lovers should choose those headphones that also make this progress audible."
Both headphones include a four-foot long, single-sided cable for generous freedom of movement. The PX 200-II also includes an in-line volume control.
In addition, both headsets feature a “fold and flip” design that allows a user to close the headband, fold-in the ear cups and pack the headphones away in the included storage pouch. A steel-reinforced headband and sturdy metal joints give the headphones the necessary strength and durability for even the toughest everyday use.
