NEC Teams Up with Varaha Systems to Deliver Mobile Unified Communications

NEC (News - Alert) Corporation of America "NEC" has announceda partnership with Fixed-Mobile Convergence (News - Alert) solutions provider Varaha Systems, deliver mobile unified communications.

The mobile client software from Varaha (News - Alert) will allow NEC customers who use the UNIVERGE SV8000 Series Communications Servers to extend desktop UC functionality and true single-number reach over both cellular and Wi-Fi networks to mobile smart phones

 Varaha has also joined the UNIVERGE Solutions Partner Program, NEC's worldwide program that gives technology providers the opportunity to fully integrate their solutions with NEC's UNIVERGE portfolio.

"Varaha's uMobility solution is about taking the features and functions of the business communications network and bringing those capabilities to the user's mobile phone," said Prasad Govindarajan, CTO of Varaha. "What this does is bring the smart phone squarely into the 4-digit dialing community of the enterprise. By introducing uMobility into the NEC UNIVERGE portfolio, end users get the entire desk phone feature package delivered to their mobile smart phone."
