The near-term market for hosted Internet Protocol telephony (IPT) and applications is much larger than projected by previous studies.
This finding has been reported in T3i Group’s most recent survey of almost 300 U.S. and international Enterprise and SMB (Small/Medium Business) decision-makers.
T3i Group’s research identified a larger market for hosted services for the U.S. SMB market targeted by specialist providers, enterprises and global companies. Service providers worldwide are finding their value propositions to be of high interest, and are offering their services to companies of all sizes.
Also, businesses facing both capex and opex reductions are attracted towards the security offered by a fixed-rate, low-cost, quickly deployable solution that can extend functional capabilities.
T3i Group’s “Global Market Demand for Hosted IP Telephony and Hosted - SaaS (News - Alert) UC Applications Market Outlook” report shows that the growth of hosted services is also fuelled by bundled access as customers like the idea of consolidating their voice/PBX (News - Alert) services with provider services.
In addition, the selection criteria for hosted applications has changed with growing awareness of Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions and cloud computing and as quick ROI has become a major factor in hosted application deployment.
“Service providers who previously had little to do with the desktop, and especially not the phone system, are encroaching on the telecom vendor’s turf,” said Russell Horowitz, Market Research specialist at T3i Group and author of the report.
