TeleCommunication Systems Debuts Fixed-Price Hosted VoIP Solution

By Shamila Janakiraman, TMCnet Contributor

TeleCommunication Systems (News - Alert), Inc. specializing in mobile communication technology, announced the debut of its fixed-price Hosted VOIP, Voice over IP, solution to new and existing managed satellite services customers.

The company said that organizations can control costs by implementing a TCS VoS or Voice-over-Satellite package that offers unlimited calling to up to 40 countries for one low, flat monthly fee. TCS VoS is suitable for addressing Continuity of Operations or COOP, first responder, and disaster recovery response requirements around the globe.

TCS VoS turnkey packages can be used along with TCS’ current managed satellite communications services or even as a free-standing solution for existing clients. Also TCS VoS provides a direct dial U.S. number per phone for individual users that can also scale to include full hosted virtual office solutions for organizations reaching 10,000 users, on both satellite and terrestrial networks.

According to company sources this solution complements TCS’ ability to provide custom VoIP solutions to its existing clients. It allows the addition of flat rate plans, hosted IP-PBX (News - Alert), and managed call center solutions, as well as session initiation protocol trunking for private VoIP networks.

James Sprungle, vice president of government operations for the TCS Government Solutions Group said, “TCS has a two-decade track record with the federal government as a trusted provider of communication technology solutions addressing their toughest technical challenges, under conditions that demand the highest level of reliability, availability and security.”

“TCS knows that simplicity and reliability in billing, matched with best-of-breed technology and performance, are key to our client’s operations, especially within public safety and government. We are committed to offering our clients the most complete range of VoIP solutions available today, ranging from E9-1-1 technology to full call center plans to our new TCS VoS fixed-rate calling plans,” Sprungle added.

TCS specializes in providing wireless, wireline, and VoIP E9-1-1 solutions and is now involved in the transition to Next Generation 9-1-1 solutions that are revolutionizing emergency communications. TCS solutions enable Public Safety Answering Points in the U.S. to decipher a wireless or VoIP subscriber’s location during calls for emergency assistance.

Company sources added that VoS improves existing Public Safety E9-1-1 networks. The company’s wireless and VoIP E9-1-1 services, together with its wireline E9-1-1 solutions, serve more than 140 million wireless and IP-enabled devices.
