Importance of HIPAA Regulations is Promoted by MTBC in Compliance Week

Rules and Regulations set up by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and its importance was emphasized to the employees by MTBC (News - Alert) in their first compliance week event. MTBC employees have always been exemplary at following set of protocols diligently and this event was to strengthen the same.
The company’s internal broadcast system ran a daily radio show throughout the week. It was not just essential information sharing, but games and entertainment were also part of the compliance week. Sudoku contests, Crosswords, Quizzes, and numerous other activities were also available. Senior staff members spoke about the importance of compliance and on-air contests were also available.
In a release, General Counsel Christine Salimbene said, “The purpose of such an event is to educate MTBC employees about the importance of maintaining the highest standards of ethical behavior within the company, with our clients and within the healthcare industry at large. Highlighting different compliance topics throughout an entire week gives MTBC employees the opportunity to focus on how each department, and individual employee, contributes to creating and maintaining a culture of compliance within the organization.” This year’s event motto was “Compliance Week – Lighting the Way.”
