One of the latest ways for people to communicate is by using a real-time video service. For healthcare, patients can save money and use a service like MDLive to get a consultation with a doctor through their computer without having to even leave their home. This new technology has become so successful that a new insurance company has begun offering video appraisals in real-time though a video service.
Esurance, the direct-to-consumer personal insurance company, has added the new mobile feature which will allow users to login to their account and chat with a claim expert in real time to get a claim on the spot after the appraiser gets a look at their issue.
Esurance Mobile, available on both the iPhone and Android (News - Alert) devices, can be downloaded for free by anyone and can be used by insurance users as a quick and easy way to get a consultation. If you are an Esurance customer and you recently had car damage all you have to do is file a claim and then connect with a video appraisal representative.
According to a video put out by Esurance, the process could not be simpler. “Your representative can schedule a time to meet with you to help speed things along. When it’s time for your appointment, just go to Esurance mobile and login to your policy from your phone. That’s it and you are ready to video chat,” said the insurance company.
After connecting, the appraiser will access your camera and show you where and what to video for them to be able to make an appraisal over the phone. “Once finished you will get your estimate on the spot. So you can schedule repairs and get back on the road in a jiffy,” said Esurance.
As long as you have a smartphone with a camera and the Esurance application you should be able to get real time appraisals over the phone and help move along the claim process so you can begin to move on from your accident. The service is available now through their application. Remember, you must have insurance through Esurance to be able to take advantage of their mobile solution.
