Mitek, a company that provides mobile imaging for financial transactions and identity services, recently signed an agreement to provide the Mitek MiSnap solution to a top 5 property and casualty insurer. The insurer was looking to add Mobile Photo Payments to its mobile app and saw Mitek MiSnap as the solution that met its needs. .
For those not familiar with Mitek MiSnap, it packs a lot of versatility. The way it works is by providing real-time feedback to the user until a suitable image is detected. At this point it automatically captures the image.
The solutions comes preloaded with sample guide images to give users context while learning the mobile capture experience, and all designs are configurable by app developers. Moreover, Mitek MiSnap automatically turns on the camera torch when lighting is low which enables the user to capture a quality image successfully in all environments.
“Paying premiums are the most common interaction a customer has with their insurance company,” said James B. DeBello, president & CEO of Mitek. “Adding photo payments is an opportunity to win the mobile moment by offering a simple and fun experience—one that is familiar to the more than 30 million Mobile Deposit® users.”
In related news, Mitek and MeridianLink, developer of the industry's first multi-channel account opening and loan origination platform and a provider of solutions to credit unions technology provider, have inked a partner agreement. As a result of this partnership, MeridianLink will add mobile imaging to their iPad apps to simplify the account opening process. The solution enables institution employees to open and fund new accounts for consumers by taking photos of documents with the iPad camera to prefill personal and financial information into forms replacing manual data entry.
Under the terms of the agreement, MeridianLink will integrate Mitek's entire Mobile Photo Account Opening SaaS (News - Alert) Suite as a new component of their LoansPQ and XpressAccounts iPad apps. The Mobile Photo Account Opening Suite consists of Mitek MiSnap, a touch-free client, and a hosted, multi-tenant server that supports the capture and processing of US IDs, checks, debit/credit cards and trailing documents.
