M5, JobDiva VoIP Integration App

By Vivek Naik, TMCnet Contributor

M5 Networks and JobDiva have reportedly announced the launch of a combined solution called “M5Connect,” a telephony integration application within the JobDiva Customer Relationship Management environment for all JobDiva and M5 customers, at the third annual JobDiva User Conference.

Company officials claim that Charles Rouhana, Senior Vice President of Integration at JobDiva, and Brent Barbara, Director of Product Development and Integrations at M5 Networks (News - Alert), represented their respective companies to reveal the newly integrated VoIP Private Branch eXchange and CRM collaborative platform.

“Our customers spend their entire day in front of their JobDiva screens, and they are also constantly on the phone,” said Diya Obeid, chief executive officer at JobDiva. “The integration of these two platforms makes sense. M5Connect for JobDiva allows the user to simply make more calls leading to more placements and closer relationships with clients and candidates. The integration enabled the user to track their phone traffic in the context of their workflow process within JobDiva. Again, JobDiva leads in the delivery of innovative SaaS (News - Alert) solutions for the staffing industry.”

The mutually beneficial route of Software as a Solution (SaaS), TMCnet reported, gives customers the freedom to use and pay for only select components of their choice from software suites, and the flexibility to add other requisites as and when the need arises. Prior to this innovative customer driven request for ‘a use and pay when required only’ approach, entire solutions had to be bought and installed at a significantly higher one-time cost.

IT support, and resources such as staff, network equipment, installation fees and annual maintenance contracts, are kept to a minimum, if not eliminated. With lesser pre-installed information to wade through, systems become more agile and corrective measures require lesser bandwidth, are more focussed and can be done remotely.

“The M5Connect Web API is ideal for connecting our hosted solution with M5’s hosted IP telephony platform,” Rouhana said. “The telephony integration is hosted by JobDiva and M5. Our customers don’t have to install any software locally on their PC if they want to control their phone from within JobDiva.”

Collaborative efforts, such as this one between M5 and JobDiva, are in keeping with one of the seven mantras of the time, as reported by TMCnet, which dictates that organizations must make serious efforts to reach out and work with each. The seven guidelines for succeeding in current economic environment are collectively called the CES (News - Alert) 7 and were pronounced and initiated at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2009.

“M5Connect is new and exciting,” said Dan Hoffman (News - Alert), president and chief executive officer of M5 Networks. “JobDiva is the first M5 Partner to incorporate this new hosted CTI service. M5 has integrated with many applications over the years by using existing TAPI based technologies. But frankly, TAPI just doesn’t work consistently. We wound up providing desktop support to our clients with generally poor results. M5Connect requires no desktop support.”

By the way, CTI (News - Alert) is an abbreviation for Computer Telephony Integration the term basically represents a technology that facilitates dual direction signal flow between an analog or a digital telephone and a computer, and the integrated solution is now an umbrella term that covers email, Internet surfing, fax, Voice and video over IP, and sometimes unified communications. TAPI is the acronym for Telephony Application Programming Interface, an API from Microsoft Windows that enables Windows PC’s to interface with a telephone via a CTI.

“Staffing is one of M5’s largest verticals,” said Barbara. “Many of our clients require their recruiters to make 50 plus calls a day. With the connection between the phone and JobDiva, users will easily exceed quotas, saving 20 (to) 30 seconds per call.”

A similar collaborated effort was earlier reported by TMCnet when Advanced Personnel Systems‘ (APS) SmartSearch manpower mining Software as A Solution (SaaS) technology and Evolve IP‘s The Evolved Office, a hosted IP-PBX, were integrated to provide a joint solution for a customer that resulted in 30 percent monthly saving on the customer’s telecommunications spend.
