Eagle Broadband (News - Alert) Inc., a national provider of IPTV products and services, has signed a deal with a leading hospitality customer for additional 500 MediaPro IP3000HD units, the latest offering in Eagle Broadband’s line of IPTV (News - Alert) set-top boxes.
In case the customer continues to purchase all of the units listed in the forecast schedule incorporated with the contract, originally announced in March, these orders will generate $6.4 million in revenue over a thirteen-month period. The same customer had purchased an initial 500 IP3000HD units in February of this year.
“This is the second order from this key hospitality contract and we anticipate our relationship with this partner will intensify over time as they accelerate their roll-out of our set top boxes within the hotels they serve. They are a leader in the hospitality industry and this additional order shows they continue to be impressed with our technology,” said David Micek, president and CEO of Eagle Broadband, in a statement. "We developed the IP3000HD to meet the needs and growing demand from hospitality operators for a quality IPTV set-top box with specific features at a very cost-effective price point and we are thrilled the market, and this customer in particular, is responding so positively.”
The MediaPro IP3000HD, a high-definition set-top box with a compact footprint and silent, fan-less design, delivers high streaming video quality for both NTSC and PAL broadcast standards. It has an advanced system-on-chip architecture including an integrated graphics accelerator and dedicated multimedia engines running in parallel to deliver high performance 2D, 3D graphics and video capabilities with motion compensation for video playback.
The MediaPro IP3000HD is capable of supporting a wide range of leading middleware and video-on-demand systems, including Java Script capabilities. With this capability, the MediaPro IP3000HD platform provides the advanced content system security and digital rights management (DRM) required by a wide variety of industries and markets. \
