Comcast Deploys 100 Mbps High-Speed Internet to Colorado Businesses

Comcast Corporation a provider of entertainment, information and communications products and services and the largest cable operator and home internet service provider in the United States announced the deployment of its 100 Mbps high-Expected to enable very fast broadband services, this deployment follows the initial launch of the “Deluxe 100” service in the Twin (News - Alert) (News - Alert) Cities. Colorado area businesses will be the first to benefit from getting access to this premium speed tier.


According to company sources this service demonstrates the power of Comcast’s (News - Alert) deployment of next-generation DOCSIS 3.0 technology. It also establishes a benchmark for the delivery of high-speed Internet services across fiber-optic networks. The technology is also referred to as wideband and is expected to help Comcast continue to deliver progressively faster speeds in future.

The 100 Mbps service tier, provided to Comcast Business Class customers will form part of a comprehensive business solution that includes Microsoft (News - Alert) Communication Services.  It also ensures a productivity suite that combines Windows SharePoint and Microsoft Outlook e-mail powered by Microsoft Exchange Server.

Within the same service will be included Norton Business Suite software that protects up to 25 PCs from viruses and spyware. The package includes other Web site hosting, design features and options.

In a release Jay Dirkmaat, Vice President Business Services for Comcast’s Mile High Region said, “We are excited about helping local companies increase their online productivity and efficiency, and take their businesses to the next level with our 100 Mbps service.”

“The ability to replace slower T1 lines with a more affordable solution, further demonstrates the power of our network to enable Comcast to deliver superfast Internet speeds,” Dirkmaat added.

The new service will provide download speeds of up to 100 Mbps enabling customers to operate their businesses more efficiently and productively. Even downloading a large 2 GB file like a hi-res X-ray or a graphic design can be completed in about 2-and-half minutes which may take up to 3 hours using a typical business class 1.5 Mbps T1 line.

Comcast Business Class also provides advanced communication solutions which are required to meet business objectives as it includes 24/7 business-class support. The availability of an advanced, hybrid-fiber coax network ensures optimum customer experience. Comcast provides Business Class Internet, TV and Voice services for cost-effective, simplified communications management, said the company.

Comcast Cable is one of the nation's largest video, high-speed Internet and phone providers to residential and business customers. Most recently, Comcast has become principally involved in the operation of cable systems through Comcast Cable and in the development, production and distribution of entertainment, news, sports and other content for global audiences through NBCUniversal, after winning government approval to take over NBC in January.
