Free Optimum WiFi Woos Optimum Online Customers

Optimum (News - Alert) Online customers are in for a pleasant surprise, for it is offering fast and free Optimum WiFi wireless Internet access across the Garden state in a number of locations and includes parks, restaurants, museums and more in many counties.


It was launched in New Jersey in 2009, and ever since then residents have been exploiting it to the full. A record number of users ranging from first-timers to tech savvy users are getting online at more locations everyday.

The size of the network has grown considerably since the launch of Optimum WiFi (News - Alert) and this growth is attributed to increased customer demand. Usage has quadrupled indicating the popularity, value and ease of use.

In order to enhance its usage, Optimum WiFi has compiled a list of places where it can be accessed. A variety of places across New Jersey, which includes waterfront areas, retail hubs, commuter rail platforms, parking lost operated by the Transit system, and other interesting but unexpected places also figure.

The popularity of Optimum WiFi is easily explained as it helps in getting directions, accessing weather reports, helps to identify tourist destinations, find local business places, stay connected with friends and family, upload photos and literally enjoy everything that the place has to offer. 

Optimum WiFi is the nation’s largest and most advanced WiFi network as far as geographic coverage goes. It has tens of thousands of access points across New Jersey and tri-state service area.  To add to its list of successes, Optimum WiFi has partnered with Comcast (News - Alert) so that it can extend its service in Comcast's service areas. Using a portable WiFi- enabled devices like the iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry, Optimum Online's current customers can access Optimum WiFi by using a simple sign-on screen.

The customer enters the Optimum User ID and password and logs into the service. The Automatic Sign in” feature has been added recently. Once the user is logged on,the network takes over. It delivers speeds of up to 3.0 Mbps downstream and 1.5 Mbps upstream, connecting to any of the thousands of locations where the service is available..Cablevision Systems (News - Alert) Corporation is a leading telecommunications, media and entertainment company with a portfolio of operations that includes a full suite of advanced digital television, voice and high-speed Internet services, valuable local media and programming properties, and some of the country's most-watched national television networks 

In a related news release, Cablevision Systems Corp. announced the development of a new, first-of-its-kind service, called PC to TV Media Relay, that will allow its digital cable customers to relay whatever information or images currently appear on their computer screen to their television in real-time, without any additional equipment in the home, using only the company’s advanced fiber-rich network.
