Perspective is something imperative in the business, and GENBAND's Perspectives15 provides just that by bringing together a collection of thought leaders in the communications and software space. TMC (News - Alert) was fortunate to catch up with GENBAND partner and leading provider of unified communication terminal solutions, Yealink, to talk trends and a peak into what the future may hold.
Greg Flick Sr. Strategic Account Director at Yealink (News - Alert) told TMC, “We’ve been making some great strides and great headway as an endpoint provider worldwide,” and it would appear there is more on the horizon. With a focus on Lync certification, video conferencing and of course GENBAND (News - Alert) certification, Yealink is constantly in a cycle of innovation in interoperability.
Flick noted that two trends to keep an eye on are the general movement to the cloud and mobility capabilities. He continued to say that front and center are, “WebRTC, VoLTE and OPUS giving us more opportunities and more challenges so we have development to do to ensure these capabilities in our phones.”
The WebRTC conversation is heating up and Flick stated that Yealink’s product development and management teams are focused on providing for its potential.
Currently, Yealink has a slew of products that are GENBAND certified including its conference phone CP860, DECT (News - Alert) W52P, T4 series and some of its T2 series of phones, as the team continues to work toward all its phones certified with GENBAND. Flick proclaimed, “Most of which is already there, but there’s still a few to come.”
GENBAND Perspectives15 event, which concluded last week, echoes its constant development and innovation in the cloud marketplace. Recently, the introductions of Kandy and fring (News - Alert), “have them poised to explode.”
