By Michael Guta, TMCnet Contributing Writer

The ability to connect to anyone using any device from anywhere has now become a standard businesses look for as part of their communications solution. As more companies integrate mobility into their ecosystem, these features are essential, and unified communications (UC) is the platform delivering on all of those points, and more. For service providers, having a proven UC solution as part of their offering ensures they are more able to compete in the communications segment. That is why EDSlan, a distributor of networking, IP telephony and UC, announced the signing of a distribution agreement with Yealink, a global unified communication terminal solutions provider.

EDSlan was founded in 1988 to supply the Italian market with word class communication and networking solutions from globally recognized vendors. This includes 3M, Alcatel-Lucent, Aruba Networks (News - Alert), HP, Huawei, Kaspersky Lab, Panasonic, Patton, Sony and many others.

Yealink will join these other top-tier companies as part of the offerings EDSlan provides with a wide range of IP phones the company says it now needs.

According to, Alessandro Magaglio, Channel Sales Manager, Lan Telephony Business Unit EDSlan, “We wanted to expand the range of IP phones with a brand known worldwide and already familiar to the Italian market. The Yealink products are in high demand and their integration into our range stems from the desire to continue to offer customers reliable, cost-effective and proven quality.

The Yealink philosophy has been to simplify the collaborative process by using innovative communications technologies to make it possible. The company provides a comprehensive portfolio of video conferencing systems, conference phones, desktop IP phones, DECT (News - Alert) wireless phones and accessories. These phones can be used as a virtual PBX to IP service providers to their customers or as a workstation from companies using a VoIP PBX (News - Alert) with interoperability between IP-PBX to any brand.

The phones can provide the communication needs of SMBs and large enterprise environments with IP phones, IP phones Gigabit and IP phones touchscreen. The distribution agreement includes the T4, Series Gigabit-colored T3, T2 and the updated series of phones to address the different budgetary needs of EDSlan customers.

Interoperability allows them to integrate with UC platforms and servers in different segments around the world, with vendors such as 3CX, Asterisk, BroadSoft, Elastix (News - Alert), Genesys, Microsoft, Tribox and others.

“This cooperation will enable Yealink to expand its presence on the Italian channel and provide better service to customers. Yealink intends to continue to achieve new levels of innovation to raise more and more the communication experience of its users,” said Stone Lu (News - Alert), VP of Yealink.
