It was a busy week in the IVR sector. Here are some of the major stories from TMCnet.
The IVR Technology Group has integrated Mercury tokenization for secure payments made by phone. The new solution automates pay-by-phone credit card transactions, using Mercury tokenization technology. The approach protects credit card data via PCI (News - Alert) standards.
It was also reported that Datatel Communications, a provider of PCI-compliant IVR Telephone Payments-as-a-Service, has added IVR customer satisfaction survey capabilities to its platform. That lets businesses and call centers measure customer satisfaction immediately after a payment has been completed.
Also, TMCnet’s Julie Griffin reported this week how Voci Technologies, Inc., offered to provide its translation solutions to the U.S. Army last year. The system is now ready for battle. Voci’s systems can accurately identify six targeted languages in real time, and simultaneously transcribe them to text in English. One single Voci server can simultaneously scan up to 350 ports, can process 100 hours of speech in one hour, thus, 850,000 hours of speech in a year. Voci scanners are also designed to detect keywords or phrases and alert users for immediate attention. The audio data is captured in call centers where they are equipped with auto-transcription software. The targeted languages in the U.S. Army’s prototype are Arabic, English, Farsi, Iraqi Arabic, Pashto and Urdu.
It was also reported on TMCnet, how Clash Media Mobile is providing qualified leads to advertisers' call centers by introducing an IVR filtering technology that works with a 60-second call-length, mobile-inventory optimizer. The new IVR capability presents click-to-call ad respondents with automated voice options.
And CommerceGate recently introduced a new IVR system which allows end-users to make secure purchases over the phone using a touch-tone telephone, landline or mobile device. CommerceGate handles the risk and security, while the merchant focuses on delivering the service and receiving the money. The caller keys in credit card information, which is transmitted by the system to CommerceGate’s level one PCI-compliant, secure payment system. Once the payment has been processed, the customer is directed back to the merchant phone service.
