Another Microsoft solution extending its mobile footprint is Microsoft Office, which is now available for Android (News - Alert) users. Although the program has been available to iPhone users for a few months, Android users had to wait until now to gain access.

Android users will now be able to enjoy Microsoft (News - Alert) Office and the cloud-based version of Office 365, all from the comfort of their own home, via their phone. Features include access to online storage; creating, editing, and saving documents; and access to office web applications.

According to a Microsoft blog post, "The release of this app shows that we're committed to keep providing additional value for Office 365 subscribers. Office 365 subscribers will now be able to access, view, and edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents with Windows Phone (News - Alert) iPhone and Android phones.''

“Employees can quickly start a chat session and then add video or share an application. Our employees have started using Lync for their meetings, and we see they are interacting with their colleagues with video and desktop sharing,” said McClain, referring to the Lync Meetings program.
