Telesur Picks Centina Systems' NetOmnia Solution

Provider of service assurance and network performance management solutions Centina Systems has announced that South American operator Telesur has gone live with its NetOmnia solution.

NetOmnia is the next generation in service assurance and service quality management, enabling the use of a single solution to manage any infrastructure: network, systems, applications, facilities and security

Telesur is a provider of wireless and broadband communications solutions in Suriname, South America. The company’s infrastructure is a mix of mobile, data, VoIP and legacy TDM networks. It also offers broadband telephony for international calling.

As a government-owned company, it was seeking a solution that would ensure that its offerings provide a superior customer experience as well as maintain a streamlined cost profile. Company officials said that they selected Centina’s NetOmnia because they needed a comprehensive approach to its monitoring needs.

Calling NetOmnia a “business empowerment tool,” Edmund Neus, CTO at Telesur, said, “We could not be happier with the level of holistic intelligence that we are able to gain into the performance of services across our networks. We can in turn take that information and make it work for us and our customers.”

NetOmnia comes with a full-featured, robust out-of-the-box tool set for making network information actionable. Company officials said that it offers real-time, historical and projected network performance analysis and visualization.

Thank to the deployment of NetOmnia, Telesur has experienced an overall lower cost of ownership and deeper visibility into the health of its services, said company officials. The operational agility has also improved due to flexible dashboards and reporting.

Additionally, NetOmnia Service Vision allows Telesur to leverage real-time, end-to-end service definitions that are vendor and technology independent, self-updating and hierarchical, allowing users to quickly pinpoint the root cause of network issues as well as they can identify affected customers and services.

Earlier in June, Centina announced that Phonoscope Lightwave deployed NetOmnia suite of Service Assurance solutions for SLA management of high-bandwidth Ethernet telecommunication services.
